Ipoh Old Town

Ipoh is quite large as the 3rd largest city in Malaysia with around 700,000 people living there. In 2011 it had a charm and generally easy going feeling like a small town that doesn't feel crowded. I hear that it has become more popular of late and particularly the Old Town area that has remnants of the British Colonial period.

Gunung Lang

Gunung Lang Recreational Park (Taman Rekreasi Gunung Lang) was a beautiful find close to town. Such a feeling of peace there was magical.

Taiping

Taiping (Chinese pronunciation: /tʰaɪ̯⁵¹piŋ/; Malay pronunciation: /taipeŋ/)(Chinese: 太平, Hokkien: Thài-pêng; Jawi: تاءيڤيڠ, Ta'iping) is a town located in Larut, Matang and Selama District, Perak, Malaysia. Taiping is mostly likely the wettest town in Peninsular Malaysia with an average annual rainfall of about 4,000mm, while the peninsula's average is 2,000mm – 2,500mm. Its unusual rainfall has also led to a fertile collection of flora and century-old rain trees in the Taiping Lake Gardens. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiping,_Perak
